The Safety Committee is constituted under the authority of Town Ordinance 2.05 and shall consist of not less than 5 but not more than 7 voting members. In order for the Town Safety Committee to take action, a quorum shall be in attendance at a meeting, consisting of no fewer than 4 members. Two Town Supervisors one of whom may be the Town Board Chairperson and/or the Town Clerk may be members. Not less than 3 but not more than 5 of the remaining members shall be citizens. The Town Constable attends Safety Committee meetings and reports on his activities. Terms are 3 years staggered. The Safety Committee oversees the activities of the Constable also reviews and advises the Town Board on all ordinances except those under the jurisdiction of the Plan Commission. The Safety Committee generally meets the first Thursday of the month starting at 6:30 pm.
