The Town of Dekorra Plan Commission is a statutory Commission established by the Town under State Statutes 61.35 and 62.23 with seven members, 1 town board member, and 6 citizen members. There is an alternate town board member and 2 alternate citizen members. The terms are 3-year staggered terms except for the Town Board member which is a 2-year term. The Plan Commission Chairperson and other members are appointed by the Town Chairperson, subject to Town Board confirmation. The Plan Commission reviews all zoning, subdivision, site plan, and conditional use requests. After reviewing a submittal the Plan Commission prepares a formal recommendation and forwards it to the Town Board. The Town Board then reviews the matter, considers the Plan Commission recommendation, takes action which is then forwarded to and considered by the Columbia County Planning and Zoning Committee and County Board. Refer to Ordinance 2.03 for further information on Plan Commission duties and responsibilities. The Town Plan Commission generally meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.
