The Town of Dekorra Parks Commission is a statutory Commission established by the Town at an Annual Meeting under State Statute 60.66 with seven members, 1-2 Town Board member, and 5-6 citizen members. There are an alternate Town Board member and 2 alternate citizen members. The terms are 7-year staggered terms except for the Town Board member which is a 2-year term. The Parks Commission Chairperson and other members are appointed by the Town Chairperson, subject to Town Board confirmation.

The Town Parks Commission meets on an irregular basis, but its meetings are legally posted and generally are held at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall. Work parties are held on-site and are also duly noticed. The Parks Commission is responsible for ensuring reservation of lands for town parks, boat landings, open spaces and for producing a master plan for such. They are also responsible for maintaining these community amenities and developing an annual budget for consideration and approval by the Town Board. A Town Recreational Lands Master Plan has been prepared.
