Dekorra has elected officials as well as appointed committee and commission members. Both elected and appointed positions have terms of office, with a staggering length of terms so that there is always some carry-over to ensure orderly transitions.
Any qualified elector may run for office or be appointed to a commission or committee (a qualified elector is a U.S. citizen over the age of 18 who has resided in the Town of Dekorra for at least 10 days before an election or appointment with no felony convictions).

Town Board Meetings are generally held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Plan Commission Meetings are generally held on the 4th Thursday of each month (except for November and December).
Safety Committee Meetings are generally held on the 1st Thursday as needed.
